What’s Applied Art History?

Designed for artists, the concept of “Applied art history” seeks to marry the academic discipline of art history with creative practice, toward the goals of balancing the reality of extant art with the needs of new works, intelligently innovating beyond replication, and making ethical choices as we explore the pre- and early modern world.
